This 19 Days Prime East Africa Safari highlights all the top safari activities in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Day 1. Nairobi to Samburu
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through central Kenya and north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve. Check in your hotel for lunch and rest then go for evening game drive in search for wildlife like; Elephants, Lions, Giraffes and Zebras from the surrounding Savannah plains. Leopards are also regularly spotted. The Uaso Nyiro River’s magnificent displays are the long and huge Crocodile. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2. Full day Samburu
Full day in Samburu, starting your day with breakfast and then drive for morning game drive at the beautiful and game abundant Park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s Zebra, Blue-necked Somali Ostrich and Reticulated Giraffe. In the afternoon we can have community visit or walking safari in the park and this will be much ideal for the birders.
Day 3. Samburu to Aberdare
Depart Samburu after breakfast and drive to Aberdare Ranges arriving in time for lunch. Relax in the afternoon as you watch game from the balconies of the lodge, with an optional guided nature walk. In the evening go for evening game drive at the park enjoy the beauty of nature with its fresh breeze surrounding all over. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4. Aberdare to Lake Nakuru
After morning game drive we retire back to our lodge for breakfast and depart to Lake Nakuru with brief stop at Nyahurururu Thomson falls. Lake Nakuru is famous for the presence of up to two million Flamingos, seasonally feeding on the abundant algae. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. In addition, many species of game can be found in the Park including the introduced Rothschild’s Giraffe, black and White Rhino, Water buck, Reedbuck, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Baboon and many species of plains game. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Lodge.
Day 5. Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara
The famous Masai Mara Game Reserve is our destination today. Known for its density of animals including the Big Five and 453 species of birds, it is one of the most visited reserves in Africa. This National Reserve’s plains are predominantly open Savannah, interspersed with patches of acacia woodland, and along the Mara River, riparian forest.
Whilst game viewing is excellent in the Mara all year round, the most popular time to visit is in late July into August where, over one million Wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of Zebra migrate from the Serengeti. The dramatic river crossings are a gruesome spectacle of survival of the fittest.
Day 6. Full day Masai Mara
The whole day explore the parks amazingly high concentration of game. This game reserve is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. Herds of immense Elephants, browse among Lion, Buffalo, Thompson’s Gazelle, Zebra and Topi. You may occasionally sight a Rhino or Leopard. In the Mara River Hippos play and Cross bask on the banks. The annual migration of a million Wildebeest follows the rains north.After exploring the park return to the Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 7. Masai Mara to Naivasha
Make the best use of the alarm clock wake up more early as we target the sunrises, proceed for an early game drive, there after return to the Camp for full breakfast, after the breakfast check out the Camp and you can visit the famous Masai Village about 1 hour, then proceed to Lake Naivasha with lunch on the way. Upon arrival check in the Camp and then have a walk along this famous fresh water Lake as you do the boat ride for about 1 hour, return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 8. Lake Naivasha to Amboseli
On this day you will have your breakfast, then check out the room as you proceed for boat ride in Lake Naivasha, this is one of the exciting experience which will take you to the hippo pool. You will be able to go as close to have good photos and then explore the lake for about two hours, there after excit the lake and proceed to Amboseli and you will have your lunch on the way, after lunch head on to Amboseli arriving late afternoon, if time allows go for a short game drive and then return to the Camp For Dinner and overnight.
Day 9. Amboseli
After the breakfast proceed for the full day of game viewing in the Park. The snows of the mountain form a majestic backdrop to one of Kenya’s most popular spectacular displays of wildlife – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino,cheetah, buffalo and host of plains game, creating Kenya’s most sought after photographer’s paradise. You will have lunch and leisure break at lookout point or at the observation hill for the peak of Kilimanjaro which may be seen in clear weather. Large herds of elephant and hippo can be seen bathing swamp grounds whose water source is Mt. Kilimanjaro. After lunch proceed for another gamed drive which will take you until 1830hrs where you will return to the Kibo Safari Camp for Dinner and overnight.
Day 10. Amboseli to Arusha
We can have morning relaxing game drive as we say hello to al Kenyans for their best hospitality they gave us through this time drive to Arusha reaching in the boarder get clearance and we cross to Tanzania reaching Arusha late for our dinner and overnight.
Day 11. Arusha to Lake Manyara
Early morning breakfast check out the hotel and then proceed to Lake Manyara as we test new experience of Tanzania now forgetting and covering the experience from Kenya. Drive to the park reaching early afternoon take lunch and explore the park in the evening with big game drive in search for animals, birds, butterflies and others Retire back for dinner and overnight.
Day 12. Lake Manyara to Serengeti
Have morning game drive after our breakfast to search for what we missed on the previous days before we hit our road to the land of the plain called Serengeti national park through the Ngorongoro crater pasiing through more small towns and villages. Dinner and overnight.
Day 13. Full day Serengeti
Full day in Serengeti on morning and afternoon game drives in the rolling grasslands studded with wildlife for as far as the eye can see the Park. We drive with our packed lunch and go as far as North to the border of the Masai to view the great migration if we were in time or else have normal game drives around the park till late evening when we come back to our lodge for a dinner and overnight.
Day 14. Serengeti to Ngorongoro
With en route game drive in Serengeti as we head back to Ngorongoro leaving Serengeti early so that we can spend the whole afternoon in the Crater viewing as many animals as possible especially with great chances of seeing the are Black Rhino, the leopards, cheetahs and others. Dinner and overnight at our lodge.
Day 15. Ngorongoro to Arusha
After breakfast, drive to Arusha for your evening flight to Uganda, met Focus East Africa Tours driver guide at the airport waiting for you and transfer you to Kampala for your flight.
Day 16. Kampala to Bwindi
An early morning start from Kampala with breakfast then start your long journey to South West Uganda having a stopover at Equator, proceed to Mabara for your lunch as we rest. After lunch continue our drive to Bwindi passing through Savannah grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredibly long curving horns. You then ascend into the Kigezi highlands, known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, with terraced farming and mountain scenery. Dinner and overnight.
Day 17. Gorilla trekking
An early rise being the best time to enjoy the beauty and freshness of the forest, home of the mountain gorillas. After a short briefing by the guides, proceed through dense bush to trek for these endangered animals. Other primates living in the forest include the black-and-white Columbus monkey, red tail monkey and chimpanzee. Return to your lodge for refreshments and in the evening go for community walk to the Batwa community.
Day 18. Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth national park via Ishasha for the tree climbing lions and afternoon boat cruise in Kazinga channel one of the most interesting times as you sail through the channel vieing a lot of hippos, bird, buffalos and many more. Return to our lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 19. Chimp trekking and back to Kampala
Have early morning breakfast before you drive to Kalunzu or Kyambura gorge for Chimpanzee trekking. After trekking drive back to Kampala for your night flight back home.
