Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park
Upon arrival at Kanombe international Airport in Kigali, you will be met by our company representative your driver guide and be transferred to Akagera national park. Estimated distance is 2-3 hours drive via the fascinating landscapes of Rwanda. Arrive at Akagera national park and connect to your lodge to rest from the travelling, where you will also have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise at Lake Ihema
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will go for a Northern circuit game drive to search early risers and look out for animals such as Lions, Rhinos, Leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and many more like Antelopes.
Later in the afternoon you will go for a boat trip along Lake Ihema and get an opportunity to explore the lake and its habitants like the hippos, crocodiles and different bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and another overnight at lodge as above
Day 3: Transfer to Musanze via Kigali
Wake up early and drive back to Kigali, have a brief stopover for lunch then connect to Volcanoes national park in the northern area of the country. The park is well known for its rare mountain gorillas. Upon arrival late afternoon, proceed to your reserved lodge to rest and prepare for the next day activity.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience – Volcanoes national park
After early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters-kinigi for a briefing about the endangered mountain gorillas from the park warden. Along with your trekking gear, drinking water and packed lunch, the driver will drop you off at the starting point to trek the gorillas together with the ranger guides. This activity may take between 1-8 hours searching for the gorillas depending on their movement. However meeting them is so rewarding and you will spend maximally 1 hour with them as you take time studying them and taking pictures and videos. After spending your time with the fascinating mountain gorillas, return to the base and meet your driver to connect to your lodge for lunch and refresh.
After trekking, you can do an optional activity if you still have time and still feel strong for another activity otherwise spend the rest of the day relaxing at your chosen lodge as above.
Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park
Have an early breakfast at the lodge and after transfer to Nyungwe forest national park. En route, great scenic views and lunch, the forest is rich with the shy forest dwellers like the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white Colobus monkeys and many others. Proceed to stretch while on a canopy walk at Nyungwe. The canopy trail is a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rain forest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. Before night fall, you will drive to your reserved lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing about the endangered chimpanzees before entering the forest in search of the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are much easier to spot as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes about 3 hours. On finding them, spend an hour while taking pictures and videos. You will then return to your lodge and spend the evening at leisure. Dinner will be served and overnight stay at lodge as above.
Day 7, Transfer back to Kigali and Departure.
You will have an early breakfast then embark on your journey back to Kigali. En route, visit the Rwanda National Museum and also pass by the Nyanza cultural village where the African culture is witnessed. Estimated distance is 7 hours drive. Be dropped off at your hotel or airport to find your onward flight.
