Our 4 Days Luxury Flying Safari to Selous Game Reserve offers one of the best experiences to Selous Game Reserve in southern Tanzania. This safari tour package can also be mid-range but the flights bit of it stretch its price tag to luxury.
Day 1. Arusha to Selous (fly)
Fly to Selous from Dar es Salaam in Nyerere Airport this takes only 45 minutes to reach. Selous game reserve is the largest game reserve in Africa not only that it is the second oldest game reserve in the world.
After your short flight, you will meet your driver guide from Focus East Africa Safaris at the airstrip who will transfer you to the hotel for some lunch. After lunch you will do your first activity (Boat ride) in River Rufiji where you will have big chance to see lot of aquatic life as well as other game when the animals come to the lake to take water. The most popular animals are African Elephants, Buffalos, Hippos, Crocodiles, wildebeest, African wild dog, Greater Kudu among others. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2. Full day Selous
Today wake up early for breakfast, with parked lunch in the car go for a game drive in search for the big 5 and also other game. As noted early this is one of the biggest reserve in Africa with its size more than three times the size of Serengeti.
The park has African Elephant, buffalo, crocodile, hippo, lions, Giraffe, Wildebeest, zebra, bushbuck, Eland, greater Kudu, Leopard, and Antelopes mentions but a few. Return back to the hotel late in evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3. Game drive and walking safari
Get up early for the morning game drive, have your breakfast served in the bush after the game drive. You will to have lunch in the bush then do afternoon walking safari accompanied by a well trained game ranger who is equipped with the gun for your protection and guiding. He will be the one to direct you what to be done, when to do, where to do and how to do it. He will also be answering all your questions. This is one of the wonderful moments as you come close to the wildlife feel the fresh breath of nature. After we retire back to our lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4. Departure
Have morning game drive and the sunrise in the bush for what we have missed as we summarize the African experience in our four days flying safari. Its only time but we could have extended the safari. Say goodbye to the hotel staff and drive to the airstrip for your flight back to Dar es Salaam.
